The Farm is our flagship project, a philosophy that has manifested as a physical space. It is an internationally acclaimed project and is globally recognized as a Home for Humanity. (Hyperlink here). The Farm is a project, a philosophy and a community. Most of our offerings also operate from The Farm.
There are very few places where you can just BE and enjoy the company of nature. And there are even fewer places like these within a city. The Farm is a place for Love, Awareness and Learning. A love for the self and for the Earth, an awareness of our surroundings and our self and a learning from the animals and from the Earth herself.
Spread over 2.5 acres and adjoined by forest land, The Farm is a green escape from the noise and madness of city life. Built completely in continuation with the natural terrain, 80% of the space has been made from scrap and waste and with minimal concrete. It is a space where one can feel in touch with nature, even in the heart of the city – a blossoming refuge for flora and fauna alike, steadfast in its defiance of the ever encroaching metropolis.
Since 2012, we have worked hard to re-wild this barren patch into a home for numerous species of animals, birds and insects, taken measures to stem soil erosion, dotted the landscape with watering holes for the animals, and created spaces for natural farming. We are home to over 1800 trees, over 62 species of birds, several butterflies, cutie crawlies and even the visiting langurs, barking and spotted deer and wild boar. We have also been a transit home to 5 elephants that were rehabilitated from a life of abuse in the year 2015.
What was once a neglected piece of fallow land on the outskirts of the city is now a veritable oasis; our very own green zone – unspoiled, unique and a magical wonderland – attracting a vast variety of animals and birds to return to their natural habitat in the region.
Our doors are open to everyone who has a desire to forget conditioning for a while and rewild, reconnect and BE. We are open to all age groups and people from all disciplines. We truly believe that it is an Open World and our doors are open for anyone who chooses to visit. The Farm is about sustainable living, learning, and leadership, with respect, responsibility and compassion, for oneself and others. We will be happiest when our visitors take the advantage to stop, reflect and listen.
